To make rapid diagnosis and confirming the prevalent and exotic diseases of livestock in the state through validated tests and to develop diagnostics. To identify and diagnose the disease in sub- clinical, carrier and latent states. To produce suitable vaccines using advanced technology to prevent and control the diseases. To make certification on health status of imported animals including animals produced through embryo transfer technology. To generate disease data bank including epidemiological maps and suggest control measures. Referral laboratory & policy institute for implementation of various guidelines for prevention & Control of diseases. Develop the technologies for easy implementation in field conditions.  Animals in about 10 km belt around the Centre will be vaccinated free of cost for protecting the livestock of the institute.
